One ring to rule them all

Sometimes my family likes to plan for what we will do when the EMP (electromagnetic pulse) strikes. And when I say "what will we do" I mean "How will we entertain ourselves?". As always, entertainment remains chief. Eyes on the prize. While everyone else is in a total panic we will be having a jolly old time playing charades and showing off phenomenal shadow puppets. Even better, the ultimate EMP production will be a reenactment. Of "Lords of the Rings", as it were. So the boys have been growing out their hair in hobbit preparation. Anyway. Things were getting a little shaggy, the tiniest bit unkempt, so Robbie and I bribed them with snow cones. One snow cone in exchange for their hair. And the privilege of removing it. Agreed.

(Robbie, brandishing the hair shaver thingy. Supposedly called "clippers")

(Short-haired hobbits with their devoted adopted brother and snow cone get-er)

Robbie did a stellar job of it, as always, and two people carrying eight snow cones was a genius plan. Also, I continue down the list of snow cone flavors. I am slightly worried as I am only on cream soda and there is only one month left of summer. Which means that I need to eat more snow cones.
Note: The whole EMP thing is just an ongoing joke. We are not really completely insane. Just mostly.

Tonight's gonna be a good night.

According to an "Instyle" interview with Josh Duhamel, Fergie loves badmitton.

Who knew that Stacy Ann Ferguson and I had so much in common? In other news I have had "I Gotta Feeling" in my head for nearly two weeks. Thank you Matty.

And thank you for this picture. There is no end to the amusement it provides for me.

Holy hair dye, Batman.

So I let Robbie dye my hair this week. Admittedly, it was partly my idea, as well. I just love red hair. The results are somewhat shocking. This is slightly embarrassing considering my rant on perfection not three days ago.

Now that the initial shock of it all has passed I am almost beginning to like it. Despite the certain science fiction quality it has about it. Melissa told me that it reminds her of Jean Grey's Hair in "X-Men".

Which I am taking as a compliment as we are both huge geeks and love "X-Men".

We hold on to our childhoods with both hands.

I have purchased two pairs of faux spectacles this week. The first because Traci and I were mourning our lost childhoods, you see, we never had glasses. I never even had braces. My best friend had both, glasses and braces. Imagine how it felt to go to the optometrist and hear him say "You have perfect vision" or the orthodontist (In truth, I never actually went to orthodontist, apparently only people with crooked teeth are allowed there. No, in reality it was my dentist who told me this.) just to be told "You don't need braces, your teeth are perfectly straight". It can be so exhausting, being so perfect all the time. Anyway.

The second time was because fan-dom can be so thrilling. "Harry Potter" glasses were a must for the "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" premier. We pretend to be super-fans, because that is just more fun. Don't get me wrong, I do love me some "Harry Potter" but not quite to the "dressing up as" level. But a group, all wearing HP glasses, what is more delightful than that?

And it was indeed delightful. We wore our glasses, we played "Harry Potter'' Uno outside while waiting in line, we talked to other fanatics, we played "Harry Potter" Uno inside while waiting for the movie to start, and we watched the movie. Robbie was unnaturally quiet, he even shushed me a few times. Which is rich coming from him, but still humorous.

R is for rambunctious.

Last night Traci, Robbie, Melissa, and I created these "poems" while eating Matty's abandoned "Orange Scream" ice cream.

Rambunctious
Obsequious
Bombastic
Benevolent

Exquisite
Marvelous
Intelligent
Lovely
Youthful

Magnificent
Excellent
Lovable
Intricate
Sensational
Salacious
Apple of my eye

Tenacious
Radiant
Awesome
Competent
Intellectual

They looked loads better on paper because Traci's handwriting is amazing but they are still quite amusing, though not entirely accurate. I mean, salacious? Melissa?

Pickles or Bubblegum?

A difficult question, I must say. I mean, it's not a party without pickles. Plus pickles are crunchy and delicious. On the other hand, bubblegum is a delight, as well. I often enjoy chewing multiple pieces of "Super Bubble" bubblegum at a time.(seven pieces of "Super Bubble" to be exact)

Not that any of this has anything to do with anything. Moving right along. My bestie Matty is here for the week and already it has been as fun as pigs running amok in the mud.
(Other bestie, Traci dominates Matty in the leg wrestling insanity)

(Actually Traci dominates mostly everyone as pictured here with third and final bestie, Robb.)

(Traci displays a "winning" look. Quite literally.)

(My blue-eyed babies.)

(Hands up, stands up. Traci dominates...yet again. Robb was rather good, as well, though.)

Later we played we played the "Twilight, the movie" game which Melissa dominated and I played the low-life who had only seen the movie once and therefore was a complete failure. Shame, shame. Oh, and we played some badmitton which I always love, despite the trash talk. Ahem, Matty. Really, though, what sort of person knows Bella's house number? Anyway, I am just happy that Matty is back and that Robb and Traci never left. Thrilled really. So enjoy your pickles and bubblegum.

Did you see that?

I love America. I love Idaho. So much. Here is a little of both. Please enjoy. Or hate. You are free to do either or anything in between.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

There's a tree under your car.

Yesterday I spent twelve delightful hours in the company of Traci and Robb.

(Robb playing mud volleyball, this is where Traci and I get bored and act rashly)

Driving around with Traci and Robb can be so entertaining. Like the time Traci ran over a huge branch in Robb's car. Or the time where Traci and I played grand theft auto and stole Robb's car to take to "Smith's" and as we were driving to "Smith's" I say "Do you hear that?" and as we are driving away from "Smith's" Traci says "Do you hear something?" and then we both hear the guy from the fireworks stand say "There's a tree under your car...". Or the time where we decide to go to "Smith's" yet again, this time with Robb in tow, and Traci runs over these sort of log things separating Robb's driveway from his backyard and we are temporarily stuck. Or the time Robb left his cellular device on the hood of his car and we drove around all afternoon, never noticing until that night when he discovered it missing. It came out relatively unscathed, though.

(The log things we hit/ran over)

I forgot, unfortunately, to take a picture of the large branch or small tree, although, as all of this happened yesterday I believe that Robb just might still have it. And I only took a picture of where we found Robb's phone on my phone because my camera was inside. Truly sorry.
