Sometimes I have long and in depth conversations with my 14-year-old, deaf dog, Shasta. I do not bear my soul to Shasta in the traditional sense, with me doing all the talking and her doing all the listening. Here is how it works: I talk, I pretend she answers, I talk some more. Also, Shasta and I only "discuss" things of little or no importance such as, the weather, politics, and things that annoy me. Nothing very soul bearing-ish.

I've heard some of those conversations.
She is such a cute dog.
And heavy.
i completely disagree
to discuss such things as politics it requires my whole heart and soul.
or not
but go palin!
I just don't know what I would do without that dog.
